Dear Community Member:
We are announcing a program critical to building on the economic momentum
we have recently been enjoying in Cheyenne and Laramie County.
Only a short
while ago Cheyenne had a stagnant economy, poor job growth, falling per capita
incomes and an outward migration of our youth. We were perceived
to be indifferent to the situation. Now we are establishing ourselves as one
of the better economic performing small cities in the country. We can, and
should build on this momentum while we can.
The current inventory of improved
land that Cheyenne LEADS can use to entice new companies into our area is too
low, and too fragmented, to deliver the
growth we want. They simply don’t have the space in inventory that larger
companies require nor the funding necessary to acquire that land. This a critical
risk to the strategy we have employed to attract new jobs to the community.
Waiting until we are “sold out” to deal with the issue does not
recognize the lengthy planning and decision cycles that exist. Prospects need
to be assured, from the very beginning of the process that we have the land
and resources they need, committed, and available.
Progress & Prosperity II will raise the funds necessary to buy more land,
improve that land, defray a portion of a prospect’s re-training costs
and assist in improving our quality-of life programs.
Our first campaign was
an unqualified success. Our strategy to attract new jobs works. We can go forward
and proactively build on the momentum we have
created or we can take the conservative approach and hope things magically
improve by themselves. We need your help and support to drive our progress.
Join
us by investing in our future today.
Join us by investing in our community’s
future for tomorrow.
Join us in investing in Progress & Prosperity II.
Sincerely,
Mike McGee
